Baby Emmett's Arrival

Now that Emmett is FINALLY here.. and I have been able to recoup from the birth I am ready to "share my story."

Emmett decided to make his arrival on 6-29-12. This is a VERY special day to me. This was my daddy's birthday. Now Emmett shares something VERY special with someone who was VERY special to me. Tim & I named Emmett after my dad in his memory, Emmett Edward Jaxon. So to his birth. We knew going into this Emmett was going to be a big boy.. but we had no idea just how big. My midwife kept telling me he was going to be around 8lbs and Tim kept telling me he was going to be at least 9lbs. I thought I was just carrying big as I did with my other two. Emma was 7lb 11oz and Ethan was 7lb 2oz. I figured Emmett would be around those numbers. Labor started around 11 AM that morning. Soon enough I was ready to push... My midwife came in and I told her I was ready. Labor seemed really hard and long this time. I remember pushing REALLY hard with all my might, actually I don't know where all that strength came from. He finally entered the world and they laid him on my stomach and I looked at his sweet face. He was pretty big! I decided to do the delay of the clamping of the cord, after that was finished the nurse took him to weigh him. DRUM ROLL PLEASE... TADA.. Emmett was a whopping 10lbs 9oz!!!

WOOWEE! No wonder my body felt like it had been in a car accident! After finishing all the tests and checking him out we finally got to hold him again. He was so big! I could hardly move I was so sore. After staying in the hospital for a full 24 hours we were ready to go home! When they were releasing us they told us we needed to return to the pediatric's office on Monday morning and we needed to get an x-ray of Emmett's shoulder. They thought he had dislocated it during birth. So Monday came around, we went into the doctor and had the x-ray. Come to find out, my poor little baby actually had a broken clavicle.

We needed to go to Kansas City on Friday to determine if there was any nerve damage. At the end of the week we made the trip to KC to get checked out again. Praise the Lord above Emmett was given a clean bill of health and we were told he was going to heal perfectly and never know anything ever happened!

Welcome to the world Emmett Edward Jaxon, Mommy, Daddy, Emma, & Ethan love you VERY much!

Lucy's Monkey Business

Well... it's been a while from my last post, but better a late post then never post. I finally set up a Facebook Page for my "business." I am a stay at home mom and I want to help my family financially but staying home and taking care of her family seems to be the best "job" I can have... so with that. I had my mom teach me how to sew and with what I have learned and being pregnant.. I have found something I LOVE to make.....

These are nursing covers. I want a breastfeed my baby but I don't like to hand it all out there {if other women want to, that is their decision.} I love all the fabric choices you have. I can make them to match the sex of the baby which makes me happy. I don't think you should have to pay an arm and leg for one of these babies either!! So I make them cheap and I make them personal! My second passion I have found that I love to make are...

Camera strap covers!! My best friend is a photographer and I went with her on a photo shoot and carried a camera around for about 4-5 hours... These cameras are pretty darn heavy!!! So for her birthday I made her a beautiful strap that is padded for her long shoots!!!
{Please feel free to check out her work.. she is AMAZING! Amy E Photography}

And to the last of my news.... DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!!

I am HAPPY to announce.. we are having...

I can't wait to meet my sweet Emmett!!!
